It is a great advantage to start making some silver and your first gold coin at low levels already. Skinning is a nice choice here. Fast and easy way to gather resources, leather of all kinds while leveling for those who are at the race to level 60. There are many good spots to grind beast mobs and skin them. I like doing it as a Troll Hunter, trolls have a passive racial ability: + 5% bonus damage against beasts.
Travel Time is what you will be doing the most of, thus talents or abilities that increase movement speed will likely have the highest impact on leveling speed. The more important concept is this: Shaving off seconds of downtime between pulls is equally valuable to shaving off seconds of In Combat Time. When you think about it this way, Damage Mitigation and Regenerative talents / abilities / stats have almost offensive properties and should potentially be valued equally to stats that increase damage.
It was the first time in a decade that I wasn't gunning for the end game, pillaging the beta test to determine the fastest way to level and get to the "good stuff," and tweaking my add-ons to skip as much content as I could to get there. I even read a quest or two, though I admit to using the option (still available, even in vanilla) to turn off the line-by-line scrolling of quest text.
We have no idea what implications this might have and whether or not it even indicates anything, since Patch 8.2 is still in testing and a Tuesday launch is more than unlikely due to Essence tuning and Azshara's Eternal Palace, which is supposedly coming shortly after launch. Blizzard said they wouldn't be delaying the new raid like they did with Battle of Dazar'alor.
15 Nov A Guild of First-Timers This post is only meant to gauge interest for a guild of this kind, as the release of Classic is still a while off. I'm interested in starting or joining a guild of likeminded individuals, who want to play Classic WoW without [excessive] use of guides and/or foreknowledge. I began playing WoW towards the end of The Burning Crusade, so I never actually experienced Vanilla, though I did play on Nostalrius for a bit. A private server environment never appealed to me much though, but I am excited to experience the slower pace and more social aspects that Classic holds in store for us on official servers. What I really hope for, though, is the opportunity to discover things for myself and to learn and grow alongside other people who may have missed the early days. Of course, most (all?) people who will play Classic will have played WoW at some point before, and not all knowledge and memories can be wiped ("Wow, cool, a new town called Goldshire! I wonder what I can do here?"). This is ok, and I do not suggest dogmatically avoiding any kinds of guides at all costs. I do, however, feel like a general guideline like this could make for a fun experience. As a guild, we would strive to progress through dungeons and raids on our own, figuring out pitfalls and challenges as we go along. Naturally, this means that we wouldn't be particularly "hardcore", and speed would not be our primary objective. Instead, I suggest emphasis is placed on exploration and trial-and-error. I do not want to explicitly exclude people who have played Vanilla, all are welcome. That being said, if one were to have great knowledge of many encounters, it might defeat the purpose of this guild if it was just shared with everyone from the beginning. Likewise, if a knowledgeable person like that were to keep quiet on purpose, it might become frustrating for them to see the rest futilely derping around and missing something obvious. Personally, I have been trying to keep myself from binge watching all kinds of stuff about Classic WoW, precisely because I want to discover it for myself. Despite my efforts, I already know some things, and surely other people interested in this will as well; but I believe there may still be value in what I am proposing. Information should be shared freely in the Guild as well, of course. The intent is to grow as a group, not each wait for everyone to individually figure out where Gromsblood grows before sharing it with them. As a final note, I would be willing to be the guild leader, though I hope it would be a very democratic and non-hierarchical environment in general. I cannot, however, guarantee that I will have enough time to continue to fill that role in the future, and other obligations prevent me from playing outside evenings and weekends in general. As such, if anyone else is interested in taking up a leading role, let me know. First of all, though, is anyone interested in a guild like this in the first place? PS: In case it wasn't obvious from where I have posted this, I am from the EU region. Also, I currently intend to play Alliance as a faction, but am in principle open to the possibility of playing Horde instead.Toh16 15 Nov

As many of you know, leveling a Warrior in Classic is not easy - it’s almost like playing the game on hard mode. Despite having low mobility, low sustain, and the highest gear dependance in the game, Warriors are by far the most played class in Vanilla. There is a sort of masochistic appeal to leveling the hardest class in the game. To some, this epic challenge provides the purest Vanilla experience, and watching an expert pilot this class with finesse is like watching an artist at work.
15 Nov DM solo. A necessary change I'm an advocate for as few changes as possible, however something HAVE to be done about DM solo farming. DM solo farming was not a huge issue in 2005, because few people knew, and took advantage of the possibility. In 2018, and come 2019, it's a HUGE problem. The DM solo farm is well known and documented, with guides, and if nothing is done it will spread like wildfire. We dont know what the server populations will be, but lets start a thought experiment here; A full server have 2500 people online Hunter is the 4th most played class, behind warrior, mage and rogue. Data from private servers show a stunning consistency that around 12% of all characters are hunters. 0,12*2500=300 hunters. 300 Hunters are online on a full server at all times. Not all of them are max level at all times, and not all of them would solo farm DM, lets say one third of them do. Thats 100 hunters making 100g per hour, most of that is from vendoring trash. In other words 10000 gold is added to the server economy every-hour OUT OF THIN AIR Its far worse than controlling the devilsaur leathers, because those have to be sold to other players. If there is 2 players on a server, each with one gold, player A sells a devilsaur leather for 1g to player B, the purchasing power between players have shifted, but the server economy is still 2gold. If change is not implemented in stopping hunters and mages from solo farming DM, the economy will be completely inflated in a matter of a few weeks.Apoxxit97 15 Nov
And for talent builds. I prefer to make my own talent builds. But I've been playing RPGs since the 8bit days so half the fun is building my own characters up. I already made and bookmarked 1 deep fire mage build, 2 elemental mage builds, and 2 deep frost mage builds. And I might remake them tomorrow if I read up on any good talent choices I left out my 1st 5 times lol. And I have multiple builds for the other classes I play too.
When it comes to levelling the Priest Class from 1-60 fast, XP grinding locations is only half the battle. You will need to make sure your weapon does enough DPS so that you can clear these mobs fast enough, it should also be noted that monster should be around your level to make sure to gain the 100% XP Reward. The Level your character should be before you start that specific location will be indicated to left in a Blue Color for Alliance [Lvl 35-39] and the Orange Color for Horde [Lvl 35-39]. The Mobs you are looking for in that specific area names are Bolded [Mob Name].
Most people who have spent years playing massively multiplayer online games will tell you that there's something special about the first one you played, too—and WoW was the first for many people. You can become so swept up in the uniqueness of your first experience that you overlook many flaws. It's likely many look at WoW Classic with rose-colored glasses, just as many simply forgot which features were added when. And some of today's WoW players may be too young to have even played vanilla WoW as it once was.
15 Nov Progressive itemization and Stages all in one At Blizzcon they showed the 4 Content Stages : https://youtu.be/hhKkP8LryYM?t=2735 As you can see its their "Current thinking" - Meaning its not final. I think we can make it more "vanilla-like" by changing it to 6 Stages and incorporate Progressive Itemization. Lets fiddle with it! Proto-type: 1: - World of Warcraft (7th Nov. 2004 - Patch 1.1-1.1.2) MC (Launch gear) Onyxia Maraudon 2: Ruins of the Dire Maul (6th March 2005 - Patch 1.3-1.4.2) Dire Maul (World Buff and gear on par with early Raid gear) Azuregos Lord Kazak 3: Assault on Blackwing Lair (7th June 2005 - Patch 1.5-1.6.1) BWL PvP Rewards (which included epic PvP and PvE gear) Darkmoon Faire (World Buff and epic trinkets via Darkmoon Cards) Thorium Brotherhood Rep rewards 4 - Rise of the Blood God (13th Sep. 2005 - Patch 1.7-1.8.4) ZG (World Buff, Shoulder Enchants, Oils ect.) Green Dragons BG Weekends (Speeds up PvP rewards) Tier 0.5 (not sure) Upgraded MC gear 5 - The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj (3rd Jan 2006 - patch 1.9-1.10.2) AQ 20/40 Silithus content Upgraded PvP gear Upgraded and new Dungeon gear 6 - Shadow of the Necropolis (20th Jun 2006 - patch 1.11+) Naxx Scourge Invasion And the rest So, yeah - Please feel free to suggest changes. I probably missed something. Just remember that we (nor Blizzard) can get i 100% correct as it was - But we can get closer than those 4 Stages, thats for sure.Ståål19 15 Nov

Where to get materials and reagents you may ask? Buy for cheap off farmers in bulk or track Auction House lots. Get in touch with most big sellers. Communication is important here, send a whisper or write them a letter. It would be good for both of you to establish business relationships. Constant suppliers and buyers is convenient for both parties to save the time and effort.
You can profit with cooking, as Savory Deviate Delight was much in demand in vanilla warcraft.  I got mine from mobs in the Barrens, but I believe the pattern also drops from mobs in Mulgore. Either way, the raw fish comes from the pond/lake at the Oasis outside Wailing Caverns.  The cooked fish doesn’t just turn you into a pirate or ninja, but you can also gain faster casting time, or +rage for tanks mid-fight, +energy for rogues.  (Not for feral druids. There is no such thing as feral druids in classic, they’re all healers with the occasional moonkin!!)
15 Nov Everything wrong in Demo - listed Dont worry cuz its just a demo. We only saw 4 levels and 2 zones. LOL. General Issues -Items with random attributes show stats from newer expansions (Ex. Critical strike rating) (items rarely had crit or hit rating, and it was always in % example ) - Damage number fonts and size is from WoD, the original was from Vanilla->MoP (The position of the damage as well as the "pop" of crits is different aswell. Also, the CT was changed slightly even during MOP. In MOP the crits were still "poppy", but they always showed up in a uniform line) - Sharding (they have already made a statement about sharding. But i still note it here) - Example of sharding problems - https://clips.twitch.tv/ChillyCrunchyBunnyPermaSmug - You can use meeting stones to summon people (added in tbc Patch 2.0.1 Source ) - You cant jump in water, you rise/swim when pressing space - Mob packs (ex. the defias camps on the mountain in Westfall) seems to be linked, so you cant pull 1 and run back, all 3 will follow forever, if 1 drops aggro they all reset (Not sure if this is blizzlike or not, Blizz would have to check the referance 1.12 client) The way you kite mobs in classic does not work in the demo, Probably a problem with the mob AI? - Cant abuse the walking animation to get a "moonwalk" Animation (would be sad to leave out such an iconic thing from the old engine) - Wand attacks cause you to face the target - You can use bnet to whisper members of the enemy faction - Might still be some problems where mobs spawn/error between the db/world. Reports of mobs spawning under the map - Mobs fanning is implemented incorrectly, they are walking backwards instead of turning around to adjust positions. - After using a flight path I was flagged as "player vs all" (like in gurubashi arena) and was able to attack players with the same bug - The graveyard at moonbrook, westfall doesn't have vultures. It should. - Rare mobs deals way less damage then they used too (hit like 25 some of them) - Chests has less green drops then they used too (40% of the time currently) - Spell Batching is not implemented because of the post cata engine. Big impact on PvP. - Kobolds at the Jangolode Mine in West fall, when low health and running away from you, run at much faster speed than even normal walking. They should walk away. - defias mobs in Jangolode mine (maybe other mobs as well?) Don't run back and attack again if they are low health and start running away from you. I think they should start attacking you again after ~8 seconds or so of running away - Corpses seem to despawn very quickly. I can kill a mob, loot it, and turn away and it'll be gone within 10 seconds. - Mobs sometimes spawn underneath terrain and glitch/evade--for example, hyenas sometimes spawned underneath hills near Centaur camps, and the Sludge Beast rare spawn near the Venture Co. tower in the Barrens would be stuck underground and evade combat. (Oddly, starting the nearby shredder escort quest caused it to suddenly become unstuck and teleport near the shredder, engaging in combat) - It seemed like mobs were dropping way too much money. I don't remember getting 30 copper per Westfall defias mob, but maybe the memory is just fuzzy. But I really shouldn't have had over a gold and be nearing 2 gold by level 16. So money drops, rewards, or vendor sell prices for items are way too high. Confirmed by old Client. - Farmer Saldean just dropped this line of dialogue on approach: "They might have run all the other farmers off, but the Saldean's will never leave Westfall." Pretty sure that's Cata dialogue. Never seen him talk before.Uauu105 15 Nov
15 Nov Elitist guilds, will we see them? Just popped to my head. What do you think will we see many "hardcore" raiding guilds on classic servers? Raiding on vanilla will be a fun thing for sure, but the raids are a joke designed for 20-30 people and will be cleared the day they open so idea of an "hardcore" guild denying you playing an enha shaman for example seems rather silly. Sure there will be some trying to get world firsts. Not sure what I'm trying to say here.Sumutar24 15 Nov
14 Nov Classic ideas 3 Hello Blizzard, this is continue of my article https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/17624483167?page=1 https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/17624503200?page=1 1) I want to thank Blizzard for the improvements and perfect working of all skills. It is pleasant to feel the titanic work of Blizzard, which causes precisely those impressions that will attract new players. Thank you for changing in graphics, animation, effects and gameplay: interaction of mobs with walls, correct agro radius of the mobs, pets attack of invisible target, stunning in the air, normal work of Charge, attack distance same for all races, debuff timer, increase limits of players on the server and many other improvements. 2) Old talent system is based on passive numbers improvements and offer only 3-4 unique skills for each build. Many of mind-blowing, ultra, special skills were release only in Burning Crusade. Old talent system is a competition of builds, depend of raid items — One build became weaker and change priority for another, but they don’t balance between themselves. Otherwise, if they will be equal, so everybody will use only the easiest and most universal build - as in Heroes of the Storm. I think the original concept of PvE was not implemented to the end, supposed to players will choosing from huge variation potential and depth of mechanics in long way of PvE gear. I would like to see huge changes and improvements in all builds. 3) I want to see more combined builds, like Survival + Beast Master with nature damage. In game are six possible builds for each class, but half of them are not competitive. Fire Mage can be playable until AQ40 and after it is much weaker than Frost mage, then this is final best one. Elemental mage is not so good as Frost mage and thats what i want to change. Druids have just one best build at all - this is so poor! I think that final gameplay for each build should be rework to save all builds as competitive, justify the investment of talents. I think best solution is to release more things that would give power to other builds. 4) Old idea was to increase damage from one build to another - "Step by step", but it is depend only before AQ40 and after - there all previos build cant be so power as top bulid, becouse of Naxx gear bonus. New players don’t like so hardcore system if they gear and build will became useless in one moment and they will be kicked from static because of previous gear. Compromise solution is to correct final balance of items and classes, so more alternative builds stay equal in start, middle, late PvE. 5) Each class has one build is for questing and at 60 lvl you have to choose between two other builds. All classes have one branch completely dedicated to fan questing and thats what need to remake for more relevant build 60 lvl. Make all builds playable, successful, fair, and interesting. Classic have bad balance for hybrid classes and this is very wrong. Priority must be on a gameplay. Game lose interest, bccouse make weaker hybrids than a dedicated class. All specialisations must have equal balance. 6) In Vanila Warrior could reach 1300 damage and hunter only 800 - i hope this is already correct to same alike damage. 7) Warriors are only one tank in Vanila and all rest were bad. I hope Blizzard will make big changes for another tanks and extend their tank abilities. I hope now all tanks will add opportunities for aggro and armor. 8) If you play Druid, no one needed you in a raid, except for being a healer. I hope you will increase the effectiveness of all class healing results up to Priests and increase damage in other DD build, like Moonkin form. 9) Reduce the shooting area for hunters - this annoying and your already know that its impossible to play like that. Increase the speed of the arrows. Make traps work in combat. Nerf Lupus and other too much powerful pets - every pet must be good in its own way. Add pet sharing from the Stable - this will stop so many wipes. Set all pet skills in book so you don’t have to create macros. Fix that if you go - your pet just ran away. Reduce pet appetite by 10 times. 10) Take away "Old needs" for eat after each pack and make health regeneration every 2.5 seconds or faster. Game in Vanila remember me «Go go orc», where player pushing forward party all time for so slow instance run.Тыцтыдыц25 14 Nov

Nov 15 Looking Forward. So simple fun thread to see how you all think and feel. Name 1 thing you are definitely looking forward to, preferably not the obvious stuff but whatever go wild! I'll start with one. Professions aiding in immersion. Not sure if many noticed this but something I am excited about playing a hunter is the professions and how they aid in immersion for the hunter class so freaking well. All of the secondary profs help hunter immersion. Cooking, Fishing and First Aid all actually fueled the hunter lifestyle. Add in Skinning and Leather Working and it's straight up Hunter RPG.Melaned22 Nov 15

You can’t go wrong with a mage. In fact, Mage was the most popular class in World of Warcraft: Classic due to their ability to farm with ease. Back in the day, the player majority even leveled mages as alts in order to gather gold quickly. In addition to their monstrous ranged DPS, mages also have tons of useful utility. As a mage, you’ll be able to conjure food and water, place portals to the major cities, and even earn gold from doing so.
